Arcane pits Lost relics game

Arcane Pits is a two-sword difficulty dungeon style adventure in Lost Relics. The dungeon is larger in size and has up to four chest rooms. The dungeon layout is randomized like all the stages in the game, and the exit door is open by default.

Arcane Pits is considered the 'next step up' dungeon, for those coming from Forgotten Chambers with who have collected a decent arsenal of Uncommon or Rare weapons, or for the more adventurous new players looking for a challenge.

Walkthrough[]

The dungeon can be run using melee or ranged. You will find you take less damage and it is often seen as the safest option to use the bow. Take your time and avoid rushing into rooms without taking notice of the number of enemies within. Without a certain level of caution, you may find yourself overwhelmed and your health bar falling quite fast.

As the map is randomly generated there is no set path you take, explore as much as you can and open all chests you come across and eliminate all enemies prior to exit. The exit is usually displayed on your mini-map as a blue triangle once it has been discovered. If you find yourself struggling to find it then hit Tab to bring up the larger map on screen and retrace your route as it could be likely you have missed an available path.

Large boulders can generate blocking a path to a chest. To get past this you can hit the boulder with your sword equipped, a left-click single attack will work but a right-click power attack will make it faster whilst using some of your energy. Once you have some gold it is highly recommended to invest in some bombs, these can be thrown or placed next to the boulder to significantly increase the destruction time.

Elites and Ogums will be the biggest challenge in this dungeon, for the elites they will shoot fireballs at the player and if approached will run away, it is strongly advised not to give chase as they will frequently lead you into a room containing a high number of enemies and may cause you to become overwhelmed. Instead, use your bow and shoot the elite at a distance. For the ogum they will give chase once aggro-ed and attack with melee and are somewhat tanky, the easiest method of attack would be to simply power attack using right-click with melee but if you wish to avoid losing any heath then run back to get it isolated from the other enemies in the room and then power attack using right-click until defeated, if you're using a bow you can kite by running away and firing off a shot and then continue running away until there is sufficient space to fire again but it is worth noting it will stop giving chase once beyond 3 rooms from its starting position.

Architecture

The architecture of the dungeon appears to be made mostly of carefully cut stones with elaborate hallways and doorway arches inside of a cavern or underground, and seems to be well-built for its time- if old and crumbling by now - but whoever built these dungeons certainly have excelled at engineering spike traps and fire-spraying walls that still work to this day! The floor consists of vents that have fires billowing from within, seemingly all connected to a system of tunnels from a source of the fire.
